TDAP to participate in 20 Chinese fairs

The Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) will participate in more than 20 exhibitions in China with the aim of develop an important market for the country products there.

This was stated by the Chief Executive TDAP, Tariq Iqbal Puri while speaking at a luncheon of Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI). According to a TDAP press release issued on Wednesday, KATI had invited Puri on Tuesday to discuss trade issues pertaining to association’s members.

Puri told them that TDAP was being geared up to be more responsive to the exporters’ needs, and that concerted efforts are being made to speedily redress their grievances.

“TDAP has envisaged a plan to focus on trade expansion in particular regions, using the tried and tested marketing tools of trade delegations and exhibitions. Importers from such targeted markets shall be invited in future exhibitions organised in Pakistan,” Puri said.

He advised traders and exporters to specially focus on the markets of China and EU. He also advised them to explore trade opportunities with China as Pakistan has already signed a Free Trade Agreement under which China would allow nearly 6500 items under duty concession including, over 2600 items duty-free. He exhorted the trade community to come forward and avail the opportunities to boost Pakistan’s exports to these regions, and offered TDAP’s full support to entrepreneurs interested in doing so.
