China to continue its role in development of Pakistan: Chinese Minister

Chinese Deputy Foreign Minister Mr I Ping said here on Monday China would keep playing its role in the development of Pakistan.Pak-China friendship was boosting day by day he said while inaugurating Chinese Language classes at Roots Schools System here as well as the launch of Nihao-Salam, a monthly magazine by Pakistan-China Institute.Ping who was chief guest on the occasion said youth of both the countries would be interlinked through culture, education and in different fields.Speaking on the occasion, Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed said Pakistan and China have declared 2011 as the Year of Friendship.

This year, he said, also marks the 60th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between both the countries.

Mushahid Hussain said Pak-China will celebrate the year at the leadership, business and people-to-people levels.

Faisal Mushtaq, Chief Executive of Roots Schools System said an empowered youth can change the picture of this region.

A youth is a driving force for growth and development. The youth of Pakistan and China are an untapped resource and need to be educated and informed to further strengthen the already strong relationship between Pakistan and China, he added.

Faisal said opportunities for the youth must be created on both sides to empower the youth.

Roots Schools System has also marked 2011 as the year of Pak-China Friendship and has planned to organise different activities, discussions, art competitions, debates, music contests and many more special events during the year.

Other speakers included Javed Laghari, Chairman Higher Education Commision highlighted the importance of Pak-China’s time tested, exemplary,bilateral relations and emphasized the need for furhter strengthening mutual relationship.
