Agronomists return after training in China

A group of six agronomists were warmly received at Allama Iqbal International Airport on return to Pakistan after training in China by Star Farms, a sister concern of METRO Cash & Carry, on food safety, food quality and food traceability.

They included Syed Shaukat Ali, M Ziaullah, M Zeeshan Saqib, M Ibraheem, Farukh Azeem and M Irfan. The agronomists were selected last year after a series of interviews conducted jointly by the Punjab Agriculture Department and Star Farms for training in China by Star Farms which was supported by the Punjab Agriculture Department. The Pakistani agricultural experts received six-month training from Star Farms to better understand the world’s leading food quality management systems and utilise these techniques in Pakistan to upgrade existing agriculture and farming practices for long-term benefits of the country.
