Pak-China Strategic Partnership to ensure peace in region

Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Liu Jian Thursday said the Pak-China strategic partnership was a guarantee of peace and security of the region and help the two nations in achieving economic stability and prosperity.He was speaking at a reception in honour of 100-member youth delegation from Pakistan who are going for an educational visit to China. The exchange coincides with the 60th anniversary celebrations of relations between the two countries.

“The youth exchange program is aimed at increasing mutual understanding between the two countries and peoples, especially in the Pakistan-China Friendship Year 2011,” said Liu.

The Chinese ambassador said youth were the future of the country who would strive to further bring the two countries closer and deepen their ties, for the times to come.

He said that during the visit of Chinese President to Pakistan in 2006 it was decided that both the countries would exchange delegations of their youth every year so as to enhance understanding of each others customs, traditions, life styles, share their experiences and learn ways to improve their lives.

The Chinese ambassador said both the countries are good neighbours and strong partners who have stood by each other through thick and thin.

“Our relations are higher than Himalayas, deeper than oceans and sweeter than honey,” he said.

The Chinese ambassador said the youth delegation has maintains the gender balance and half comprises of women.

He advised the youth to maintain the tradition of transferring the objective of maintaining strong ties from generation to generation and to increase their understanding about China.

Additional Secretary Hassan Javed expressed the hope that the youth would be able to learn a great deal about the great Chinese nation and emulate their success in Pakistan.
