Chinese delegation visits Punjab University

A 25-member Chinese delegation from Honder College of Inner Mongolia led by its president, Yushu Zhou visited Punjab University on Friday.

Speaking on the occasion as per a press release, Yushu Zhou said it was an honour for him to visit the oldest and the greatest university of the region. He said Pakistan was the most honourable and dependable friend of China and people of both countries love each other. In the recent flood disaster, Chinese students gathered their pocket money and helped their Pakistani brothers and sisters, he added. He said it would also be an honour to collaborate with Punjab University in Chinese language course and other academic courses. Honorary Advisor to PU Vice Chancellor Col (Retd) Ikram Ullah Khan welcomed the delegates and said that Pakistanis and Chinese were very close to each other and both countries would further strengthen their relations with academic collaboration.

College Vice President Xingang Yang, Dean Chenxia Liu and Prof Dr Liaquat Ali also addressed the occasion.

Meanwhile, another press release said the delegation also visited Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) where Vice Chancellor Dr Ahmad Jan Durrani welcomed the guests and gave them a briefing on the university.

The Honder College President talked about the Pak-China association and friendship. He also spoke of the education system in China. The group was given a tour of the university campus and the visiting students had a chance to mingle with students at LUMS over lunch.
