Pak-China agree to further bolster ties


Pakistan and China have agreed to further bolster their cooperation in different fields including economic and defense.

The understanding came during a meeting between the foreign ministers of the two countries in Beijing on Wednesday. Pakistani side was led by its Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar while the Chinese side was led by its Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi. Both leaders discussed the regional and international matters including current scenario of Syria and Libya. During the meeting China has hinted its role to restore peace in Afghanistan.

During the meeting both the sides particularly reviewed the economic cooperation and decided to launch mutually beneficial projects. Cooperation in the energy and other sectors and matter regarding legalize the exchange of currency were also reviewed in the meeting.

In her remarks, Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar said Pakistan has long term strategic relations and time tested friendship with China. She stressed the need for further boosting economic cooperation for the benefit of the two countries.

Earlier talking to the media in Beijing she said that delegation exchange at highest level and visits of high command of both countries have strengthened the relations between both friendly countries. She said that government of Pakistan is trying its best to strengthen the economic, social and strategic ties with china, adding that free trade agreement is an example of these efforts.

On the occasion Pakistani Ambassador for China Masood Khan said that the visit of foreign minister would further strengthen the ties and would helpful to enhance cooperation among the both countries.
